Day 24: 30 Days of Baking

Yesterday was beautiful. No coat in the playground, that was only the second time this year. It was also St. George’s Day. I hardly knew it was, really. The kids had themed assemblies at least.

We walked to the gym last night, as it was so nice. Pumped some iron, posed in the mirrors, sized up the competition (I completely didn’t) then strolled home and I baked. I made a fruit tea loaf, with earl grey tea. Like I said, something a little more traditional.

This is for Steve at work, who specifically requested no chocolate and no beetroot. I had to ask him what he did like as I was a bit thrown by those dislikes and he said he loved fruit cake. So here we are with a lovely, well-risen, spicy smelling fruit loaf which I expect would be perfect with a cup of tea.

Here’s hoping that today will be as bright as yesterday.
